  Feast of the Ascension

Congratulations to our teens who received the sacrament of Confirmation on April 26th.

  First Eucharist for our children will be celebrated at the 5:00 p.m. Saturday Mass on  May 3 and May 24, and at the 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses on May 4.  Congratulations to all our First Communicants

OPPORTUNITIES  

    HELP ENHANCE OUR WORSHIP ENVIRONMENT -  We are looking for parishioners to assist throughout the liturgical year.   Come to our meeting with Fr. Gabage on Wednesday, May 14th at 6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Early Learning Center

   WANTED: COORDINATOR OF THE MINISTRY OF CARING -  This is a part time position with Holy Cross Parish.  For more information, see the Bulletin  (link below). 

   ORDINATION - Deacon Christopher Hanley who spent a summer with us at Holy Cross will be ordained on Saturday May 17th.  The parishioners of Holy Cross are invited to attend at St Peter's Cathedral in Wilmington at 11:00 a.m.  A Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated at Holy Cross at 11:00 a.m. on May 18th.  A light reception will follow.  All are invited.

  ADORATION CHAPEL - We have the following openings: Sunday  Midnight - 1:00 am.,   Tuesday 1:00 a.m., 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m.  Thursday  3:00 a.m., Midnight to 1 a.m., Saturday 1 a.m.  Call Joanne Pate if you are interested in any of these times.

Thank you to Carmella Jones, Director of Religious Education, Marcia Messina, all of the catechists, teachers, aides and parents who helped prepare our children for First Eucharist. 

Thank you to Eric D'Antonio, our Parish Youth Minister, to his team of catechists and to the parents and sponsors of the young people who will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation on April 26.

EVENTS

      May 5 - St Patrick's Cathedral Choir Concert - by the Holy Cross School Choir.  Come hear the concert this choir performed in New York on Saturday. April 26th at 7:00 p.m. in the Church.

     May 8 - Bible Study - A six week study of the Acts of the Apostles begins at 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the St. Luke Room in the Early Learning Center.  Please read Acts 8:4 - 9:31.  Contact Ann at 735-7976 for more information.

     May 11- Mother's Day Breakfast - in the cafeteria after the 7:30 and 9:15 Masses.  Mothers eat for free.

     May 17- P.H.A.T  Volunteer Day Meet at 8:30 a.m. behind the gym.

    May 18- Life Teen Open Gym Night immediately following the Life Teen Mass.  Fun, food and fellowship until 9:00 p.m.

     May 20- 2009 Mass Book Opening at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Office. 

     May 21 - Charismatic Mass at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross. Father Dan is officiating and all are invited.  Light refreshments will be served afterwards.  For information, call Judy Lovett at 741-2336.  

    Wednesday evenings - Charismatic Prayer -7:00 p.m. in the Bride's Room.
